Senior Manager Policy & Regulation APAC, Eku Energy

Rachel brings over 16 years’ experience in energy market reform, policy, regulation, construction delivery and environmental management to her role at Eku Energy leading its APAC Policy and Regulation function.

Having spent the last decade driving Australia’s energy market reforms focused on the clean energy transition, Rachel played an important role at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) during the re-design of Australia’s National Electricity Market through the Energy Security Board post-2025 National Electricity Market Design. She was involved in the establishment of wholesale and retail energy market changes to evolve Australia’s National Electricity Rules to accommodate higher proportions of variable renewable energy, battery energy storage and distributed energy resources in the grid.

At Eku Energy, Rachel maintains oversight of the energy policy and legislative landscape across Asia Pacific and the integration of regulatory reforms into Eku Energy’s APAC portfolio. To support the company’s project origination and development activities, Rachel maintains key relationships with Federal and State Governments, Market Bodies, Industry and community stakeholders. She has a Bachelor of Science with majors in Environmental Science and Geography from the University of Melbourne, and a Master of Energy Systems from the University of Melbourne.
