Mr Cleary is a Senior Consultant to Shinka Management, a global company of lean manufacturing consultants which specialises in the transfer of Japanese management know-how. He is also a Board member of Empire Energy Group an Australian ASX listed oil and gas exploration company with operations in the Northern Territory and USA. Mr Cleary is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Australia Korea Business Council.

Mr Cleary is a leader in the oil and gas sector. He holds relationships with commercial and government entities gained over a distinguished 29-year career representing Santos, the North West Shelf Venturers and BP in Asia. His executive career was in LNG, pipeline gas and chemicals operations.

He previously held positions as a Board member of the Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA), the Australia China Council, the Australia Japan Foundation and the Australian Institute of Energy SA Branch. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
