Towards an Innovation Alliance Forum 2022

Towards an Innovation Alliance Forum 2022

On Thursday 6 October before the 59th Annual Australia-Japan Joint Business Conference, we were privileged to hold our inaugural forum Towards an Innovation Alliance at Google’s wonderful facilities in Shibuya, Tokyo.

With over 150 people present, the forum was an outstanding success and brought together the movers and shakers in innovation, technology and translational research leading positive change in both Japan and Australia who discussed how our countries, long-standing economic partners, could build an alliance in this emerging field.

Participants included leading figures from top Australian and Japanese startups, venture capital firms, technology businesses, industry peak bodies, universities and government who value collaboration, dare to make a difference and lead change in innovation and translational research. Thank you to all who attended and supported this great event, particularly our key sponsors Google, Investment NSW, Fujitsu Australia, Innovation Dojo and University of Technology Sydney. The event highlighted the strong interest in collaboration on innovative activities in both Australia and Japan and the potential for the two countries’ strengths to complement each other in creating solutions for the multiple and complex problems our world faces. It paved the way for further discussion over coming months as the AJBCC builds towards its 60th anniversary conference in Melbourne in October 2023.
