New JABCC Chairman, Mr Michiaki Hirose

The AJBCC congratulates Mr Michiaki Hirose on his appointment on 10 January 2023 as Chairman of our partner organisation in Japan, the JABCC.

Mr Hirose is currently a Director and Chairperson of the Board of Tokyo Gas Co.,Ltd. a major commercial partner of Australia. View his CV here

AJBCC President Peter Grey warmly welcomed Mr Hirose’s appointment, saying it was further evidence of the crucial importance of the ongoing trade between Australia and Japan. He said he looked forward to working closely with Mr Hirose to develop the business relationship between Australia and Japan still further, and towards successful delivery of the landmark 60th Annual Australia-Japan Joint Business Conference in Melbourne in October 2023.  Mr Grey also paid tribute to the leadership of Mr Hirose’s predecessor, Dr Akio Mimura, AC, who stood down as JABCC Chair.
