Congratulations Mr Sam Walsh AO

The AJBCC congratulates Mr Sam Walsh AO on receiving the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, recognising his outstanding contributions to the promotion of economic relations between Japan and Australia.

On 8 November 2022, The Japanese Consul-General in Perth Mr Naito Yasushi hosted the Imperial Decoration Conferment Ceremony.

The speech from the Consul-General Mr Naito Yasushi can be viewed here. Representing the AJBCC at the ceremony in his capacity as a member of the Advisory Council, the Hon Richard Court AC read out a message from AJBCC President, Peter Grey.

Mr Walsh is an honorary life member of the AJBCC, reflecting his many years of service to the organisation. He was first elected to the AJBCC Board in 2005 and served as a Vice-President from 2008-2013.  He continues to be involved with the AJBCC as a member of our recently announced Advisory Council.
