Toyota Tsusho AND AUSTRALIA-JAPAN RELATIONS​

Toyota Tsusho, as a member of the TOYOTA Group, contributes to the Australian market through vehicle sales and auto parts supply, among other activities. We also play an active role in trading, importing mineral and energy resources from Australia and exporting automobiles and machinery products from Japan.

Recently, we have expanded our operations in Australia into the field of green energy, including wind power plants and circular economy initiatives. These endeavours align with our company’s policy, which prioritizes environmental and social responsibility, contributing to sustainable development for both Australia and Japan.

Key Milestones

  • 1971 – Establishment of Toyoda Australia
  • 1992 – Change the company name to Toyota Tsusho (Australasia)
  • 2008 – Establishment of Toyota Tsusho Logistics (Australia)
  • 2018 – Strategic capital alliance with Orocobre (currently, Allkem),
    lithium mining company
  • 2021 – A memorandum of understanding (MOU) with BHP and PPES regarding supply of nickel sulphate
