Control Risks helps some of the most influential organisations in the world to understand and manage the risks and opportunities of operating in complex or hostile environments. Working across five continents and with over 3,000 employees working within their 41 offices, their unique combination of services, geographical reach and the trust their clients place in them, ensures Control Risks can help them effectively solve their problems and realise new opportunities globally.
Control Risks offers a wide range of advisory services, including business intelligence and due diligence, crisis and security consulting, political and regulatory risk analysis, and fraud and forensics consulting. They have had presences in Australia and Japan for several decades, with their main offices in Sydney and Tokyo. Their work includes two-way advisory services for both Australian and Japanese companies conducting or looking to conduct business in the other country. Japan is a strategic priority for Control Risks, where they see growing opportunities given the uptick in interest in recent years from Australian and other foreign companies looking to invest or expand into the country.

IHI Engineering Australia Pty Ltd (IEA) was established in September 1971 as a 100% subsidiary of IHI Corporation of Japan to primarily execute the onshore portion of the Oceania projects that were awarded to IHI. Since then, it has evolved into progressive engineering solutions for Power Generation, Industrial Machinery, Infrastructure, and so on.
IEA is also very involved in the maintenance work for the facilities it has delivered in the past, as well as maintenance of units built by other companies. The maintenance of coal fired power generation boiler and related facilities, as well as LM6000 gas turbine power generation systems, has grown into one of the main fields of work in which IEA is currently involved. It is the intent of IEA’s Management to gain stable growth of the company through those operations and to explore IHI Group’s state-of-the-art technology in Oceania. IHI Group’s management principles are “Contribute to the development of society through technology” and “Human resources are our single most valuable asset”. Its corporate message of “Realize your dreams” epitomizes the mission they embarked on more than 170 years ago since IHI was established.
Motoya (Moto) Nakamura, Managing Director, will be the AJBCC nominated representative and is based in Sydney, NSW.
