As one of the world’s largest integrated providers of bauxite mining, alumina refining, and aluminium smelting, Alcoa plays a crucial role in delivering aluminium – a critical mineral required for everyday products and the green energy transition. Alcoa is a major supplier of alumina and aluminium to the Japanese market and is currently working with Japanese partners to explore investment in critical minerals.

Dr Mitch Loan, Vice President, Strategy, Business Development & Joint Ventures, will be the AJBCC nominated representative and is based in Perth, WA.

The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) promotes Australia on the global stage, grows and diversifies trade and helps build Australia’s economic security and prosperity. With over 100 offices at home and worldwide, Austrade helps Australian businesses achieve diverse export outcomes and win investment needed to grow. Last financial year, they facilitated over 1,400 export outcomes with an estimated value of $3.7 billion and 165 foreign direct investment projects valued at $9.5 billion.

Austrade delivers government programs to support trade and investment and share commercial insights to inform government policy. They are responsible for the Commonwealth’s tourism policy, programs and the national strategy for the visitor economy’s long-term sustainable growth. Elizabeth Cox, General Manager, North East Asia, Austrade, Minister (Commercial), Australian Embassy Tokyo, will be the AJBCC nominated representative and is based in Tokyo, Japan.

Rebecca Shrimpton, Australia Country Executive, The Asia Group, will be the AJBCC nominated representative and is based in Melbourne, VIC.

Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy and Fertilisers (WesCEF) is a division of Wesfarmers, comprising eight industrial businesses that operate in domestic, national and international markets.

WesCEF businesses include CSBP Chemicals and Fertilisers, which has a 110-year operating history in WA; natural gas provider Kleenheat, and Victoria-based PVC resin supplier, Australian Vinyls and ModWood, a composite timber decking business. WesCEF also has a 50 percent stake in both Queensland Nitrates and the Covalent lithium mine and refinery.

WesCEF is committed to net zero by 2050 and is developing several decarbonisation opportunities including Carbon Capture and Storage and Green Ammonia by working with Japanese companies to further technology and projects associated with these goals.
