Roundtable discussion on Japan’s Green Transformation (GX) Policy

We were privileged to be able to host a great discussion on 21 March featuring one of Japan’s leading experts on carbon pricing and decarbonisation policy, Professor Toshi Arimura of Waseda University and the Research Institute of the Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) who sits on a number of Japan’s key advisory panels helping to shape government policy in this area.

Professor Arimura provided excellent and valuable insights into the thinking behind his country’s recently released Seventh Strategic Energy Plan and Japan’s plans for the introduction of carbon pricing – a subject of great interest to Australian exporters given Japan’s status as our largest energy market.  We thank Professor Arimura for a great conversation, the Australian National University for creating the opportunity, and PwC Australia for hosting us.

The AJBCC’s Clean Energy Transition Advisory Committee (CETAC) is committed to helping Australian and Japanese business work together with governments to achieve their international commitments on decarbonisation while ensuring energy security in both countries is maintained, and our great bilateral relationship is strengthened still further.
