The defence and national security relationship between Australia and Japan has rapidly grown stronger and deeper in recent years, reflecting the two countries’ strongly shared values and national interests.
Along with the increased co-operation between the two defence forces and governments in this area, there is growing interest in commercial collaboration to ensure both countries have access to robust and resilient supply chains for essential equipment and systems.
Our Defence, Security & Space Industries (DSSI) Advisory Committee is intended to promote discussion between business and Government on how to enhance such industry-to-industry collaboration. Its goal is to help facilitate an environment conducive to Australia-Japan joint ventures and innovation-sharing, so as to strengthen the technological and strategic capabilities of both nations and the linkages between relevant businesses in Australia and Japan.
