Join Us for an Discussion on Australia-Japan implications of the Future Gas Strategy

The Australian Government’s Future Gas Strategy announced on 9 May 2024 has crucial implications for one of Australia’s largest energy export industries, and one which Japan has highlighted as having a critical role in supporting its journey to carbon neutrality by 2050.

The strategy aims to:

  • Support decarbonisation of the Australian economy
  • Safeguard energy security and affordability
  • Entrench Australia’s reputation as an attractive trade and investment destination
  • Help our trade partners on their own paths to net zero.

Join us for a discussion between Robert Jeremenko, the key government official responsible for bringing the Future Gas Strategy, and senior industry representatives Samantha McCulloch, CEO of Australian Energy Producers and Bill Townsend, Senior Vice President Corporate at INPEX, moderated by the Chair of the AJBCC’s Clean Energy Transition (CET) Advisory Committee, Tim Lester, on how the Strategy has been received, how implementation is progressing, and the ongoing role of LNG in the clean energy transition of both nations.

The event will be held in a hybrid in-person/online format, under the Chatham House Rule.
