Welcome New AJBCC Members!

Welcome New AJBCC Members!

We are delighted to welcome new AJBCC members Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA,  Pembroke Resources and Solarig. See all our members here.

Since 1901, the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME) has been the leading advocate for the resources sector in Western Australia. It is a member-funded, not-for-profit organisation that represents the views of its members and advocates on their behalf.

CME leads policy development on issues impacting the sector, prosecutes the case for those policies through government, stakeholder and media channels, and promotes the value of the sector to the community.

WA’s history of strong business partnerships with Japan is cemented by joint venture operations, investment and trade agreements with CME’s member companies, particularly in the LNG and iron ore sectors. At its core, the strong business connection between WA and Japan shares a commitment to technological innovation, ESG responsibility and industry’s role in the broader community.

To support the many business links between our members, investment partners and customers, CME’s policy experts engage in economic research and policy development activities across a range of social, environmental, workforce and business competitiveness issues.

Their work is complemented by an external communications strategy that aims to increase understanding of the sector as a driver of the Western Australian and Australian economies, and an enabler of the global energy transition.

Rebecca Tomkinson, CEO, The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia, will be the AJBCC nominated representative and is based in Perth, WA.

Pembroke Resources is developing the Olive Downs Coking Coal Project into a world class independent and large-scale producer of steelmaking coal, delivering high quality coking coal and PCI products to key markets including Japan, South Korea and India.

Barry Tudor, Chairman and CEO, will be the AJBCC nominated representative and is based in Sydney, NSW.

Solarig is an international clean energy project developer, investor and operator, based in Madrid, Spain, with over 1,100 professionals and operations in 15 countries including Japan. In Australia, Solarig’s focus is in green hydrogen and energy storage; in Japan, it is predominantly solar energy development and generation. Solarig has over 1GW of green hydrogen projects in development across the eastern States of Australia, including a major project at Gladstone, Queensland, that is focused on supply of green hydrogen for domestic heavy industry and for export. Solarig is investigating a further 1.275GW of potential green hydrogen export projects in Australia. Drawing on Solarig’s existing business presence in Japan and Andrew Want’s long association with Japan’s Hydrogen Strategy, Solarig hopes to become a significant participant in Japan-Australia hydrogen trade.
