Congratulations to AJBCC Ex-Officio Board Member Bruce Miller, AO on his appointment as Chair of the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB).

Biography
Bruce Miller AO was Australian Ambassador to Japan from August 2011 until January 2017, and has had a 45 year association with Japan. In Australia, he occupied senior positions in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Office of National Assessments, including as Director-General for one year, before he retired from government in December 2017. He joined the TAL Dai-ichi Life Board in April 2018. At the same time he was appointed an Advisor to TAL’s Japanese parent company Dai-ichi Life Holdings. Separately, he is an Advisor to Japanese company INPEX. He is chair of the Australia Japan Foundation, a member of the advisory board for the Australia Japan Research Centre at the Australian National University, and Chair of the Advisory Board to the Asia Institute of Griffith University. He was appointed an Officer in the Order of Australia in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours and awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star by the Japanese Government in 2020.
